What's Happening to the Marine Hotel?

"Salcombe's Marine Hotel is to open its doors again as the Salcombe Harbour Hotel after coming under the management of the Harbour Hotels group. The Group is managed by Mark Godfrey who is no stranger to the South Hams having previously managed the Dart Marina Hotel in Dartmouth........The Marine Hotel was the source of controversy last year when managing director Richard Knowles made 25 staff members redundant without pay, prior to the hotel's closure in December (2008). .....The Staff were assured the hotel would reopen last April but the hotel remained empty thoughout the summer."

Confirmation has been received that the Marine will re-open as the Salcombe Harbour Hotel just before Easter. The new General Manager, Jason, will be taking up his appointment from Monday 25th January, so I will be speaking to him that day to re-join the swimming pool and fitness suite. As soon as I have organised this I will be in touch with anyone booked after Easter to confirm the arrangements.

Rest assured as soon as this is possible our Salcombe cottage will rejoin for the benefit of all our tenants!
