This Christmas and New Year our guests have been taking breakfast and lunch on the terrace and tell me that they will be going home with a suntan.
The activity on the water provides a day-long cabaret so that when you tire from reading, there is always more entertainment! Locals wander past along the path and pass the time of day – we have had writers composing novels from the terrace of our Salcombe cottage and numerous painters and photographers who stay regularly to capture the view at all times of year. We have tried to include as many photographs as possible to give you an idea of what it is like to stay in our Salcombe cottage.
Children love to crab over the sea wall just outside the gate of our Salcombe cottage. Their parents relax over a pre-dinner drink on the terrace while the children make friends with others who have had to travel much further to Victoria Quay – the best spot in the village for catching the most crabs. The competition is fierce – often the two year olds succeed over their older brothers and sisters. Once they are all in bed it can be a wonderful experience to watch the sun go down whilst having dinner on the terrace – or if you prefer to wander round the corner into the centre of the village for a meal in one of the many pubs and restaurants, we are happy to recommend reliable babysitters and you will be only a few minutes walk away.
Whatever the time of year, we know that you will enjoy staying in our Salcombe cottage.
